Artistic Director and owner Danielle Lykens began her formal dance training at the age of three. This is Danielle's tenth year of teaching dance and her sixth year as a studio owner.  She studied dance locally as well as the Central Pennsylvania Ballet and the Cecchetti Society. She has performed in ballets such as the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Coppelia. She has also performed pieces from Swan Lake and LaBayadere. Danielle has also performed on the set of Indiana Jones at MGM Studios in Walt Disney World Florida.  Along with studying dance with the Penn State professional modern dance company she also has a B.S. degree in Social Work/Counseling from Saint Francis University.  Danielle has attended numerous workshops and master level classes on all areas of dance and gymnastics. In 2005 she was accepted to dance with the Broadway Dance Center’s internationally recognized master instructors in New York City.

     Danielle and her students have received numerous awards at interstate dance competitions in all styles of dance and gymnastics.  Three of Danielle's advanced students have been accepted to dance with the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, Broadway Dance Center and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.  Danielle is also safety certified through USAG (United States Gymnastics).
      Star Performance is the 1st dance academy in the area to introduce liturgical (worship) dance to the community. The students in this group meet weekly to worship and dance for the Lord.

STAFF

Shelly McCaffrey-  Shelly started dancing at the age of 3 and continued for over 18 years.  She has studied locally as well as attending various classes and workshops at the NYC Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.  She has spent various summers at Chattaqua Art Institute, Pennsylvania Governors School, Central Pennsylvania Ballet and the Pennsylvania Ballet.  This is Shelly's sixth year as a teacher.  Shelly has received numerous awards for her choreography at regional competitions.  Shelly has also been trained in the Cecchetti form of ballet. 

Kaitlyn Baker -  Kaitlyn has been dancing for the past 13 years, she is well versed in the genres of ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and character.  She has studied under several famous choreographers, including; Cherie Noble, Henry Roy, Jamale Graves, and Sergio Neglia, to name a few.  She was a PA Governor's School candidate, recipient of the AAHS Advanced Dance Scholarship, Dance Educator's of America Senior Miss PA, and recipient of the Headliner's "Beautiful Feet" award.  Kaitlyn also is active in Altoona Community Theater (ACT), and recently performed in the musical "Ghosts".  

Brandon Wilbur -  Brandon has won numerous regional and national awards in Hip Hop dance.  He recently trained with Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels, and Wade Robison. 

Christina Hemminger -  Christina began dancing at age four, but became more interested in the tumbling aspect. At age eight she began training in tumbling. She spent five summers from age twelve to age seventeen attending different types of tumbling and cheerleading camps. Christina was selected from six other seniors to cheer in the East/West allstar game her senior year. Christina is a certified USA Gymnastics Level I coach and has been a tumbling instructor for several years. Christina is currently the assistant cheerleading coach for the Hollidaysburg Senior High and a voleenter coach for HAYFA. She also has her current criminal and child abuse clearances.
